Does the host need to install anything?
No traditional install. BarSongTrivia runs entirely in your browser. You can optionally add it to your home screen as a PWA (Chrome's "Install App" — no app store involved) for a cleaner fullscreen experience, but it's not required.
Is this gambling? Will I get in trouble?
BarSongTrivia is designed around skill — correct answers require actual song knowledge, and faster correct answers score higher. Many bar and venue owners treat it similarly to a standard trivia night for this reason. Entertainment and gaming regulations do vary by state and venue type, so we recommend checking with your local liquor authority or an entertainment attorney if you have specific questions about your situation.
What music can I use? Do I need a license?
You play your own local music files — nothing is uploaded to or streamed through BarSongTrivia's servers. Most venue music licenses (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) are designed to cover live entertainment use of music at your venue.
